Open World Program Exchange

September 2005 the fourth group visited the Central Pennsylvania community.

The summer of 2004 found the third group of Russians visiting the Harrisburg community. Part of the day was spent touring the Pennsylvania State Capital in Harrisburg. Our guests were welcomed by the local officials from the House of Representatives and the State Senate. The group then visited the City of Harrisburg government center where they were each presented with an Honorary Citizenship certificate. The rain stopped long enough for them to also take a walking tour of downtown Harrisburg. Dick and Mary Faith Van Noy were exchange directors.

Summer fun with our Russian friends!

This was the first full day of activities for the group. They toured the Huntsdale State Fish Hatchery to learn about the states efforts to reintroduce native species of fish into areas where they are no longer are found. The Day's activities included presentations by Pennsylvania's Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, DCNR, which included a tour of Pine Grove Furnace State Park.
