Building global goodwill through personal friendships ---- The Friendship Force is a nonprofit international organization designed to enhance cultural understanding through personal contacts. Home stays of individuals and families enhance the opportunity to build friendships: increase understanding of other cultures, enrich relationships, and increase opportunities of world peace and world cooperation. We are ordinary people who believe we can make a difference by making friends with people of other nations.

THE FRIENDSHIP FORCE PLEDGE

As a member of the Friendship Force, I recognize that I can make a difference.
I recognize that I have a mission. That mission is to be a friend to the people
of the world. As I embark on this adventure, I know that others will be
watching me. I know that through my example to my fellow citizens and the
people of other nations, the cause of friendship, love, and peace can be
furthered. I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Since 1977, The Friendship Force has involved more than half a million volunteer Ambassadors and Hosts, from more than 56 countries, in international home stays. A Friendship Force Ambassador lives in a Host's home, taking part in family and community life. Ambassador and Host may not speak the same language nor share similar backgrounds, yet the power of friendship overcomes the differences. "Faces, not places" describes The Friendship Force mission. The private, non-profit organization is not a travel club. Sightseeing activities are included in many exchanges, yet the primary goal is always mutual understanding and friendship.
